New York, NY – October 17, 2008 – Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Robert C. Lieber, Deputy Mayor for Operations Edward Skyler and Rob Speyer today announced the beginning of construction of the first phase of “Gotham Center,” a major mixed-use development in the heart of Long Island City, Queens.
